It has just been announced that studio.bad's submission to the Triple Bridge Waterfront Competition earned an honorable mention! The project, titled 'shift city', explored what an infinitely adaptable city would be like. Here is a brief synopsis from the submission:
“shift city explores what it would be like to have a truly adaptable environment. utilizing a 4m x 4m track system and several prefabricated building types users are able to change the structures locations to suite the current needs. the structures can be shifted to block harsh winter winds, allow cool summer breezes, or be arranged for specific events. imagine being able to move an entire exhibit hall and adjacent concession stands to allow public space for a temporary exhibit. in shift city, you can. ”
The worldwide competition, hosted by HMMD, received hundreds of submissions and we are honored to be chosen in the top six.
